Melbourne Exhibition Centre
2 Clarendon Street, Southbank
Melbourne, Australia

The Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC) is a world-class facility that satisfies the requirements of national and international conventions, large scale public and trade exhibitions, corporate meetings and specialised events. With a state-of-the-art convention centre and Australia’s largest exhibition space, the MECC is one of Australia’s most acclaimed centres.

The MECC is conveniently located along the picturesque Yarra River, close to the central business district and a short stroll, tram or boat ride to 19,000 hotel rooms, restaurants, theatres and entertainment venues. The MECC is only 20 minutes from Melbourne’s International Airport.

Construction on a new convention centre adjacent to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre commenced in June 2006 and is expected to be completed by 2009.

The new convention centre is part of an $A1 billion development that includes a five star hotel, an office and residential tower, lifestyle retail and a homemaker centre.

The new convention centre will feature a timber-clad fan-shaped, 5,000-seat plenary hall that can be sub-divided into smaller tiered conference venues; a ballroom and 32 meeting rooms of various sizes.

How to Get There:

By Road: Parking available at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

By Tram: Trams 112, 96 and 109 stop outside the main entrance to the centre.

By Train: Southern Cross and Flinders Street stations are within a 10 minute walk from the centre.
