Senior Food and Beverage Manager
Born in Liverpool England, David traveled to Australia in 1973 with his family. Completing his apprenticeship as a Chef in Melbourne, David worked at the Grand Hyatt prior to moving back to England to further his career with the prestigious Ritz and Dorchester hotels in London. Upon returning to Australia, David was employed at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, escalating to the position of Executive Chef in July 1999.
In 2002 David was promoted to become the Food and Beverage Manager at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
David is currently the Senior Food and Beverage Manager at the Melbourne Cricket Ground for Epicure Catering and is responsible for the delivery of Food and Beverage in the corporate and dining areas of the stadium.
David’s career highlights also include being part of winning teams of industry awards on a state, national and international platform. David has also achieved several individual awards throughout his career as both Chef and Food and Beverage Manager. Some of his accomplishments include:
• Developing and executing the inaugural Culinary Challenge (Chef Competition)
• Numerous State and National Awards from the Meeting Industry of Australia for Catering and Banqueting
• Supporting and participating in charities including Very Special Kids and Children with Cystic Fibrosis
• Winner of the international AIPC Award for Catering and Banqueting 2002
• Winner of the Victorian Restaurant and Catering award for best Catering and Banqueting 2007
