MEET THE AIME TEAM: ANNALISE KNIGHT

13 April 2023 •

Currently sailing the high-seas, get to know Annalise in our latest ‘Team Behind the Screens’ series below.

Why do you love events?
Events are a place where people come together to ultimately celebrate something they have in common; and working in the event industry to make these special moments for people happen could not be more fulfilling. The whole idea of events – where you meticulously plan the entire thing to the best of your ability and then letting go and trusting everything falls into place when the show goes live – is like no other. As a someone with a performing arts background, it is this adrenaline rush that no matter how stressful it can get, always has me coming back for more.

What is your favourite destination in the world?
I am still yet to find somewhere as magical as the South Island of New Zealand. My sister and I road tripped around New Zealand living out of a van for 4 weeks and I am yet to experience anything else like it. Travelling in a van means visiting places you may not visit when staying in accommodation and sleeping under the stars at the top of Mount Cook was certainly an unforgettable example of this!

What is the last book you read?
I am currently reading Visual Thinking by Temple Grandin. A few years ago, I had a ski accident which resulted in being diagnosed with Post Concussion Syndrome. From this accident, my whole process of thinking changed from verbal to visual. Ie. from thinking in words to thinking in purely pictures and patterns. It has been a long process learning about this new ‘me’ and this book has helped me understand a lot and not feel as ‘crazy’.

What three words best describes you?
Creative, Intuitive, and adventurous

What have you learnt this year?
To trust and have faith in yourself over trying to control the situation at the expense of yourself.

What is a fact about you that surprises people?
I toured the world performing many times when I was a kid, including North America and Asia. Performing Arts will always hold a special place in my heart and so in my spare time, I am writing a one-woman comedy show to hopefully one day, be included in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
